About This Blog
This blog was known by the title "Living in the Midwest" until January of 2011, when I purchased my own domain name. "The Pink Woobie" is a salute to my inner child, and has become my identity across the internet.
The name originates with the 1983 movie Mr. Mom, where the middle child carried a blanket named Woobie. In the movie the child comes to terms with the his separation from his security blanket. This is something I have never done, and you can still find my Woobie amongst the blankets and pillows of my queen sized bed.
To me Woobie means comfort and love, and when I create handmade objects, that is what I'm trying to convey.
Besides promoting my Etsy shop, Skreened store, and my other craft endeavors, I want this blog to be a place of safety and comfort where you can feel free to try new things, not be afraid to fail, and to show your love for your favorite people and things.

About The Author
I have been and am many things, a sister, daughter, wife, student, cat lady, and creator.
I live my life attempting to deal with the challenges of chronic illnesses, my Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (among others) became their worst in 2008 after a hospital stay for pneumonia and whooping cough. My life was turned upside down, forcing me to quit work and school. I had already been blogging at the time, but it soon became one of my ways of dealing with so many life changes.
Now as these changes have become the norm for me, I am sharing with you the things I love to do the most; learn, love and create.
I'm honest here, sharing my struggles, and hopefully my triumphs over illnesses that have been keeping me down for so long.
I'm striving to make a community of mutual support of a healthy and creative lifestyle.
